Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie

Strategy + Branding + Advertising

Lyon has always known how to combine taste with culture. In 2010, the “gastronomic meal of the French” had the honour of being added to the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

This provided Lyon, the city renowned for its French cuisine, with the opportunity to create a unique space where flavours, tastes, and culinary arts and pleasures come together.

The Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie will offer an exceptional experience in a brand-new location entirely devoted to fine food from around the world and the passing down of culinary traditions. This major French cultural and gastronomic project will benefit from the “UNESCO World Heritage” label and take shape in one of Lyon’s most characteristic monuments, the Grand Hôtel Dieu, currently undergoing a complete renovation by Eiffage.

Saentys is assisting Eiffage with the Cité’s visual identity and international branding campaign. The creation of both a corporate identity guide and sponsorship packages was the starting point of a marketing support strategy that will continue until the project’s opening in 2018. Thanks to Saentys’ contribution, the Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie featured prominently at the third edition of BEST OF FRANCE in New York City in 2015.
